Takes just a couple minutes and allows me to "oversee" the route to make sure it is what I want. I use LittleNavMap, and then just key in my route into my iPad.

I never really became comfortable using FltPlan Go on my PC for flight planning. Of course, there are very few procedures in the sim that are still current today. All of this depends on multiple databases that may or may not coincide on all devices/sources. The route you fly will be shown on the client as you move along the map, but the route may diverge from the flight plan you create in FltPln Go once you load a procedure into the GTN. The actual procedure is flown by the GTN controlling the AP. FltPln Go gets its info from the sim thru Simconnect. The flight plan may change when you load a procedure. despite having my iPad right next to me it's still easier and safer to keep my focus on my computer monitor and receive the plate info from the GTN.ĥ. Which is why I do not use them in the client app.

I've not used SIDs and STARs with FltPln Go but you must download the approach plates. The GPS status box on that page should change from "disabled" to "connected".Ĥ. start the sim and load the flight you'll be making, then out to the desktop to start the FltPlan Go GPS application, then on the left panel of your client device click on "External", then click on "FSX & Prepar3d". You assume correctly about starting sequence. It all seems to work much better and faster that way. On a side note, I assign IP Addresses on my network for both the host device (flightsim computer) and the client device (phone, tablet pad, etc.). As I recollect, the FltPln Go GPS program installs directly into the flightsim folder. Yeah, they make that part really easy, huh? On the upside, FltPLn Go will tell you when a config is incorrect and how to fix it. Indeed, it can be a pain setting up aircraft profiles. Save the flight plan. I copy the routing info to my clipboard - and paste it into Little NavMap so I can generate it in P3D and Garmin formats for use in the sim. My normal flow - is create a flight plan on - then when the routing options appear - I choose a “Recently ATC Approved” route - if available - for an aircraft of a similar type. Then download the appropriate app to your tablet from your respective App Store. This program will need to be launched in order to work when you use it. Then download the connector program from the Fltplan site as well - it’s a small little program that facilitates the coms between PC and Tablet - basically transmits your GPS position from the sim over your WiFi. You don’t have to change your aircraft to match the sim - one will do. Might take you a few minutes to complete all the new federally mandated requirements on your aircraft to meet the new ICAO requirements - yep - lol - even to use it with a sim.

I have emailed FltPlan support and I may hear from them, but in the meantime does anyone here have P3DV4, running on Windows 10, version 1709, 16299.I’m sure there must be a manual on their site - I’ll see if I can find it when I get home tonight.
